We are a café/restaurant located at 200 Heaton Road, Newcastle upon Tyne (NE6 5HP) and welcome Adults & Children alike (we have plenty of high-chairs available).

We’re a close bunch, all good friends, and passionate about our food and coffee.

It is our intention to better the standard with which we believe the public regard café cuisine. As such, we have taken great care to produce all of our dishes “in-house” with the vast majority of ingredients (including sauces, jus etc.) being made to our own recipe.

Whilst keeping in line with a popular New York Diner style for our breakfast menu, we have added some more diverse flavours to our dinners which let us sink our teeth back into some real classical cooking.

Both the beans and the equipment we use to produce our coffee are of the highest standard – Wega; Bristot Beans – and our staff are ALL highly trained in the art of producing a damned good cup of coffee. The difference between the coffee we serve here and the coffee you might find elsewhere is marked.

We also produce our own Smoothies, Milkshakes, Iced Tea and Iced Coffee in-house.

We are fully licensed and serve Wylam’s Gold Tankard on tap, alongside a versatile and robust selection of bottled beers and wines.

We hold events such as gigs, comedy nights and engagement parties in the evenings (see our ‘Events’ Page) and suggestions/proposals are always more than welcome!

We have been open for two years and owe a massive thank you to all those who have supported and worked for the Butterfly Cabinet.
